Where Auto Auctions Get Their Vehicles

Where do these vehicles come from and how can they be sold so cheap?

Auto auctions get their vehicles from government agencies and repossessions. Government agencies can only keep their vehicles for so long due to their policies and regulations. When it is time to buy a new vehicle, the used ones are sold at auction. These vehicles can come from the State or Federal Government, Police Departments or Fire, Emergency and Hospital Services to name a few.

Repossessed vehicles sold at auction have been seized by banks or financial institutions because of a default on the loan. The banks want to get rid of these vehicles as soon as possible to get some of their money back. Many repos are new or almost new because the owners could not make the payments on these vehicles after buying them.
